Until 26 December The World of Tintin

The largest presentation in Hong Kong to date, this exhibition showcases eight albums from the renowned The Adventures of Tintin series. The immersive experience celebrates the imaginative world created by the Belgian illustrator and creator of Tintin, Hergé and is presented in collaboration with the Hergé Museum. It runs until 26 December 2017 at ArtisTree.


1-3/7-10 December Aladdin the Panto



For more than 50 years, Hong Kong Players have put on an annual Christmas pantomime. This year will be a singing and dancing Aladdin suitable for all ages. Prepare for side-splitting humour as these productions never fail to amuse.

8 December Christmas Carol Concert Appeal



A night of Christmas carols accompanied by a professional choir and brass band is the perfect way to start the holiday season, especially when it’s for a good cause. Held at the Helena May, the concert will raise much-needed funds for the Society for Community Organisation (SoCo), a local charity that works to improve the lives and situations of cage dwellers in Hong Kong.


10 December Hong Kong Corporate Sevens



Held at So Kon Po, the tournament raises funds for the Po Leung Kuk Tackling Life Rugby Programme. The Kidz Zone – with face painters, a balloon twister and various arts and crafts – will be a big hit for little and big spectators.


13 December Shawn Mendes

15-26 December The Nutcracker



What is Christmas without The Nutcracker? Set to Tchaikovsky’s iconic music with live accompaniment by the Hong Kong Sinfonietta.  Terence Kohler’s version was created especially for the Hong Kong Ballet. Drift away to a magical world of toy soldiers, sword fights, snowflakes and candy canes.


17 December The Snowman and The Bear



Experience the beloved The Snowman and The Bear on the big screen with live orchestral accompaniment and lots of singing. Adapted fromRaymond Briggs’ book, these two magical short films are ideal for a festive family outing.


19-26 December Scrooge!



A Christmas treat for the whole family! If you don’t have a serious fear of missing out on this one, you should! Buy your tickets now to this Broadway musical based on Charles Dickens’ iconic work, A Christmas Carol. This heartwarming performance will be a wonderful way to start your Christmas celebrations.


23-24 December Music for Kids



Get into the Christmas by attending this performance by the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra at the Cultural Centre.  Beautiful Christmas music to put smile on the whole family’s faces.


30 – 31 December Hong Kong Philharmonic’s A Viennese New Year



The Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall will host the much-anticipated annual Viennese New Year performance. The always sold out concert will include the Blue Danube Waltz and the Radetzky March where clapping and foot-stomping is strongly encouraged!

06 – 28 January Cats



After a successful season on London’s West End, the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical revival is finally visiting Hong Kong. Based on T.S.Elliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Highly Practical Cats, the 2015 Olivier Award-nominated musical will amaze all who go to see it.


07 January Clearwater Bay Chase 2018



Work off some of those Christmas treats by running in the Clearwater Bay Chase. Consisting of 10km individual and corporate categories, a new 3.5km round-the-golf-course race (which offers fantastic views) a 3.5km parent and child race for 9-13-year-olds and 1km parent and child races, there is a race to suit everyone.


10 January – 01 February Kids Fest



Kids Fest returns with a line up of new exciting kids theatre alongside some classic favourites. Head to the deep dark wood with The Gruffalo, hang with some four-legged friends with Hairy Maclary and Friends. There’s also Lost and Found, What the Ladybird Heard, Monstersaurus and Emily Brown and the Thing.


13 -24 January Chamber Music Festival



The 2018 Chamber Music Festival features six themed concerts including An Evening In Paris; A Lifetime of Beethoven; 20th Century Masterworks and Viva! Pipers Family Concert – a family concert (in Cantonese) that introduces primary school audiences to wind instruments through a fun and interactive programme.


14 January Race For Kids



RBC Race for the Kids is a timed 10km, 3km and family fun run taking place in YMCA youth village, Ma On Shan. It is one of The Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong’s (BGCA) flagship events. Over 3,000 particiants of all abilities run, jog, or walk their way to the finish line to raise money and help support BGCA’s youth mentorship programs. There will be a carnival after the race for runners and theirfamilies.


14 January Children’s Author Bhakti Mathu



Author Bhakti Mathur is launching two new books. Amma, Take me to Tirupati and Amma, Take me to the Golden Temple are part of the gorgeously illustrated Amma, Take Me series aimed at children age 8-12. The books attempt to introduce children to the many Indian religions and faiths through their important places of worship. Meet the author at Bookazine Exchange Square between 11am and 12.30pm.


17 January – 07 February Volvo Ocean Race Festival



One of the toughest around-the-world sporting competitions, the Volvo Ocean Race and Festival is coming to Hong Kong for the first time. The Race Village opens in Kai Tak on 17th January offering a variety of entertainment and activities – as well as welcoming the racers on (approximately) 20th January. The In-Port Victoria Harbour Race will take place 27-28th January. Leg 5 will start on 1st February and Leg 6 on the 7th February.


25 -28 January Disney On Ice



Disney on Ice celebrates 100 years of magic with this ultimate Disney performance starring Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daffy and many more Disney friends. Sing along to over 30 unforgettable and iconic songs while watching a truly spectacular performance.
