    Christmas is nearly upon us and with that the school holidays. We’ve rounded up our top picks for activities to entertain the children. Guaranteed to keep them busy and you sane over the winter holidays!

    Helen O’Grady Drama Academy Christmas Camp

    Children will participate in a wide variety of activities in drama lessons carefully devised to captivate interests and stimulate learning. These activities aim to develop ongoing confidence, self-esteem as well as skills in verbal communication. Activities include ab-libbing, music & movement, snippets, prop/costume making and a special performance on the last day for parents. For children age 4 – 7 years.

    Magic Kingdom

    Show off some magic skills throughout the Christmas holiday by saying ‘Abracadabra’ in your holiday gatherings. Through simple tools and techniques, kids can become little magicians. Practicing and performing magic gives kids a boost in confidence, creativity as well as communications skills…and it’s a whole lot of fun. For children age 4 – 7 years.

    Language and Learning Camps

    Winter wonderland themed classes: kindergartners journey through drama, games, story books, and art to develop language skills with a particular focus on building confidence and communicating in English; lower primary children enjoy Reader’s Theatre, bringing scripts to life as they read and act out stories and their own writing while practising phonics, pronunciation and intonation. Spanish camp develops Spanish vocabulary and speaking confidence, while learning about festive Hispanic culture through stories, games, drama, art and more.

    Fashion Design

    Led by professional designer Gabor Zsoka, learn a variety of essential tips and tricks for making the most unique and inspiring fabric designs. Create captivating fashion illustrations and decorations then take your new-found knowledge to the sewing machine to produce and accessorise your own tunic shirt with knotted textiles. Age 10+ years.

    Gift Card Making

    Learn some illustration and paper construction in a festive workshop, where children will practise drawing, cutting and gluing skills. A focus on the spirit of giving leads to the creation of a large pop-up gift card with lovely colour and decorative ribbons with a festive touch to brighten up the winter holidays. Ages 4 – 6.5 years.

    Baking with Complete Deelite

    If you have a budding little baker at home, look no further. From 16 Dec – 03 Jan, kids can mix and match a variety of baking and decorating classes at Complete Deelite. Choose from gingerbread house decorating, donut making, cooking baking and more. Ages 6 and up.

    STEM Related Camps

    Science, 3D printing, coding, robotics and drone programming – there is something for everyone to enjoy. Who says learning can’t be fun? With STEM education being the talk of the town in the educational system, the YWCA International Kids Club has an assortment of camps this Christmas holiday. For children age 3 – 12 years.

    Gymnastics & Trampoline Day Camp

    Enjoy gymnastics with professional coaches at YWCA. In this camp, kids will partake in activities using a variety of apparatuses such as vaults, beams and trampolines to learn basic moves that train up their motor skills, flexibility, agility, concentration and coordination. For children 3 – 10 years.

    Kinder Kicks Christmas Camps

    Kinder Kicks Soccer is one of the most popular programme at the YWCA. Their professional coaches use a variety of exciting games and special equipment such as bean bags, skittles, mini footballs and goals to teach the basics of soccer. These games help develop motor skills while teaching valuable social skills. Each session is fun-filled and includes real coaching and real learning! For children age 2 – 6 years.

    Martial Arts Related Christmas Camps

    Stay active this Christmas holiday by learning punches and kicks in one of many martial arts classes available at the YWCA. They have a full range of martial arts-related classes ranging from Kendo and Taekwondo to Wing Chun. These classes are a great way to improve motor skills, discipline, concentration and respect which will help children to develop into responsible, courteous, and upstanding individuals. Perfect for youngsters who have limitless energy. For children age 3 – 12 years.

    ESF Sports Camps & Clinics

    Across Hong Kong during the winter holidays, ESF has something fun for everyone. Taught by highly qualified coaches, choose from multi-sports camps, swimming, tennis, football, gymnastics and fencing clinics. For ages 2.5 – 16 years, depending on the activity.

    MiniSport Camps

    At six locations around HK, join minisports for skill development and confidence building in sports ranging from basketball, football and tennis to athletics and rugby.     HK Institute of Languages Winter Camp

    Boost your child’s language skills during the Christmas holiday. Holidays are the best time for kids to explore a new language or catch up on school work. With the Hong Kong Institute of Languages, your child could enjoy learning English / French/ German/ Spanish/ Mandarin/ Cantonese/ Japanese with professional teachers through fun and engaging teaching activities.     Hong Kong’s premier philosophy-based martial arts and wellness studio, is hosting Christmas Camps for kids over the holidays as it prepares to launch its first ‘BJJ Youth’ class in January 2020. The camps are developed to integrate the physical benefits and mental philosophies of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and yoga for children aged from 7 to 11 years old. The two, four-day camps combine BJJ empowerment with yoga mindfulness for youth development, strength, movement, self-control and much more.

    The half-day Christmas Camps are four-days each, from 9:00am through 12:00pm in the BeWater studio in Central. Week 1 Camp: December 23, 24, 27 & 28 Week 2 Camp: December 30, 31 and January 2 & 3

    The three-hour camps are for 4 to 8-year-olds include meals and snacks, and there are classes in the City Club for kids as young as six months if they are accompanied by an adult. Camps in Repulse Bay and Causeway Bay are open to non-members. Repulse Bay classes are for members only and their guests, while Causeway Bay is open to members and non-members. Just note that non-members are unable to use member club facilities unless as guests of a member who must also be present at the time. Camps will start on the 16 Dec to 3 Jan.
