Following successful openings in Milan, Berlin and Manchester, Lush opens Asia’s first Naked shop in Causeway Bay. The store introduces innovative and plastic packaging-free alternatives to all their products, such as solid shampoo bars and soaps, and also new and exclusive naked skincare innovations, helping to tackle the plastic waste problem in Hong Kong. Annabelle Baker, Director of Lush Asia Limited explains, “Wastage is a monumental problem where inaction is not an option and recycling should be the last option. This is why I was so passionate to launch our first Asian naked shop in HK. We don’t have space in HK to deal with our wastage, we have to reduce it and that’s where Lush comes in. The Naked concept store will provide new, innovative and effective products in one of the most convenient and prominent locations in HK.”
With the opening of the Hong Kong Naked shop, the #LushLabs app will launch in English, Traditional Chinese, and Japanese. Customers will be able to scan products directly using the app, which will give them a detailed ingredient list and ‘how to use’ demonstrations, thus eliminating additional packaging. Expect to find some new innovative products, like body scrub cards, pressed dry shampoo, naked foot powder and naked hand serum, and the first Lush store in Hong Kong with a make up range. Along side all the products, Lush’s range of carbon free packaging will also be on offer, like Cork Pots.
The Green Space above the Naked store will host environmental talks and introduce educational information about Hong Kong’s waste problem with other local NGOs and green activists. Lush is taking this opportunity to educate customers about a plastic-free lifestyle.
