Renowned book author Martha Keswick and award-winning Illustrator Mariko Jesse have released a prequel to the Max and Mei series – the Max and Mei & Me Early Years Learning Kit – which contains all the tools you need to learn the important foundations of Mandarin!
Specially designed for children ages 2-5 years, the learning kit comes in an eco-friendly travel box and contains a press and play sound book, finger puppets, two game cards, double sided placemat with numbers and colours on one side and snakes and ladders on the other and an activity book as resources to learn the topics of Clothes and Numbers in Chinese. Children and learners will practice their memory, matching and cognitive skills by associating words with concepts and pictures. They will also further develop their gross motor skills by pulling, throwing, putting down and picking up the Max, Mei & Me puppets while enjoying the storybook, or using the dice while playing the Snakes and Ladders game.
The book also has an audio play button that guides children and their parents with the pronunciation of the Chinese characters in the book. The kit is also accompanied by an educational Max & Mei website, enhancing Mandarin literacy learning.
