A few ideas for celebrating NYE 2020 with kids – from fireworks to singing with Mickey.
Watch Fireworks Over the Harbour
Fireworks, lasers and lights with a big WOW factor... that's what we've come to expect from the Hong Kong fireworks display. Every year, thousands come to see this spectacular display that illuminates the Victoria Harbour with the iconic Hong Kong skyline as a backdrop. Watch from the shoreline, a boat on the harbour or up in a skyscraper but do plan ahead. It gets busy in town! The spots for a great view are the Central Harbour front on Hong Kong Island, the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Open Piazza, Tamar Park, Ocean Terminal Deck at Harbour City and Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade in Kowloon.
Take an Evening Cruise
Catch the fireworks whilst afloat on a boat. Hong Kong fireworks, launching from harbour barges as well as skyscrapers, can be seen from most places along the harbour front but imagine being out on the water to see them fall. Hop on a boat and cruise around the harbour to catch the display while you enjoy a late dinner and drinks.
Go on a Staycation with a View
Why not book a hotel with a glorious view of Victoria Harbour? Make it a fun little staycation, letting the kids stay up late to see the fireworks without the crowds. Some hotel options to consider - Harbour Grand, Grand Hyatt, The Park Lane, Intercontinental, Marco Polo, The Ritz-Carlton, Kowloon Shangri-La.
NYE Countdown with Mickey and Friends at Hong Kong Disneyland’s hotels
Mickey and friends will host a New Year’s Eve to remember. Countdown parties at the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel and Disney Explorers Lodge are sure to impress little ones. The parties start when the clock strikes 11pm. Hotel guests or those dining in hotel restaurants can dive into the countdown parties.
