The iconic lovable blue Smurfs are in Hong Kong, with an exclusive appearance at the Gallery by the Harbour, from now until 3 January 2021. The “Together We’re Happy” Art Exhibition features the comic characters in all their glory, with special limited-edition Hong Kong collectibles. The Smurfs were hugely popular cartoon characters in the 80’s and 90’s therefore firmly establishing themselves into most households across the world. “Together We’re Happy” features a total of 99 Smurfs, along with Smurfette in a unique installation.
10 art prints have been developed from original manuscripts, alongside 10 new prints created for Hong Kong. The new prints are infused with Hong Kong characteristics. The Smurfs have travelled all over Hong Kong from visiting the Star Ferry, to taking a rickshaw ride. Local Hong Kong traits like dim sum, milk tea, and kung-fu are incorporated into the figures, stamps, t-shirts, pins and tote bags, making this truly unique to Hong Kong.
