We’ve rounded up our favourite spots to celebrate Thanksgiving in Hong Kong and get your turkey fix in. Whether you celebrate or just appreciate some good old fashioned comfort food.

Smoke & Barrel

New kid on the black Smoke & Barrel celebrates Thanksgiving in Hong Kong this year with a traditional American BBQ feast. With options for dinner, brunch and takeout, there is something for everyone. Dinner menu include brisket, smoked mozzarella salad, with main choices ranging from smoked turkey, blackened catfish or smoked pumpkin. Sides dishes include mashed potato, baked stuffing, and cranberry sauce. And a home-style apple pie crumble and New Orleans beignets with salted caramel sauce, poached plums, and ginger. Brunch highlights include shared starters of baked beans with pulled pork, fried egg and homemade corn bread. For mains, choose from a selection of smoked turkey, avocado toast, crab salad, S&B smoked meats platter and mac n’ cheese, buttermilk pancakes with caramel popcorn, banana, and granola, and blackened catfish with okra salsa and baked rice. If you’re looking to stay in, then the special home celebration package fits the bill. Suitable for 8-6 guests, the package includes 5-6kg whole smoked turkey with homemade cranberry sauce, and traditional sides. All topped off traditional Pecan Pie, and a bottle of sparkling wine.

Kinship is offering a series of dine in and take out offers. Highlights of this year’s Thanksgiving dinner will include starters of ricotta & nutmeg agnolotti with butternut squash, crispy leeks, and candied pecans, and Louisiana-style crayfish salad with marinated organic tomato, corn and avocado. Guests can choose one main dish, including smoked turkey, a twist on tradition served with hazelnut-cauliflower puree and cranberry jus. Vegetarians can also join in on the feast with porcini risotto, served with madeira reduction, pecorino and fresh herbs. Sides include mashed potato, brussels sprouts, baked stuffing, and cranberry sauce. For dessert, share a home-style apple pie crumble with roasted almond ice cream and vanilla crème, and a sweet interpretation of the American childhood favourite, salted caramel s’more with waffle wafer, marshmallow and chocolate mousse.

Mandarin Oriental

The Mandarin Cake Shop will be celebrating Thanksgiving with its usual annual spread. Prepared with care by the hotel’s award-winning culinary team, enjoy a holiday feast with family and friends that can be picked up or delivered anywhere in the city. The “Top Hat” box contains either a 7kg or a 10kg U.S roast turkey, served with stuffing, pumpkin wedges, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, sweetcorn, cornbread and gravy. Guests can also choose a 7kg U.K honey glazed ham or a 3kg roast prime rib beef. And for dessert you can enjoy either pumpkin pie or salted butter pecan pie. Prices start from $2,928. Big Sur

Celebrate Thanksgiving in Hong Kong with a Herb Smoked USDA Turkey with Sourdough Gravy. For $2100 The Thanksgiving Whole Turkey Set comes with the full works and big enough to feed 6 – 8 people. Served with plum and cranberry sauce, brussel sprouts, creamed spinach, garlic and chives mash, honey roasted carrots and parnips and jalapeno and cheddar cornbread. You can always trust the Cakery to come up with some guilt free holiday treats. For this year’s Thanksgiving, dig into The Cakery’s vegan and refined sugar-free re-creations of the traditional American dessert pies. Pumpkin Pie ($348) features fresh pumpkin puree and silken tofu, along with cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and vegan butter. Apple pie meets pecan pie in an indulgent mash-up of Apple Pecan Pie ($378), which contains vegan butter, apple, cinnamon, pecan, maple syrup, coconut oil, almond flour, and dairy-free cream. Available for a limited period from from 16 – 29 November.

Ammo is bringing all the highlights of Thanksgiving for you to enjoy at home.
