Kowloon True Light School
ounded by Ms. Harriet Noyes, a missionary of the American Presbyterian Church, Kowloon True Light School has a rich history rooted in the spirit of Christ’s love and the motto “Thou Art the Light of the World”. The school’s journey began in 1872 with the establishment of True Light Seminary in Guangzhou. Over the years, it expanded to include a secondary school section in Paak Hok Tong, Guangzhou in 1917. In 1949, under the leadership of Principal Ma Yi Ying, the school relocated to Kowloon Tong and became known as Kowloon True Light School, dedicated to promoting Chinese culture and offering holistic Christian education.

DSE, Our School adopts English as the medium of instruction in all classes for all S1 students starting from 2022 to 2023. Students can adapt to a rich EMI environment early in the hopes of establishing a smooth transition to senior forms as well as university. Besides, designated classes and groups in each junior form have Chinese Language taught in Putonghua.
Mandarin:
Through exposure and accumulation of knowledge, the passion for learning can be kindled. Therefore, we place our emphasis on the teaching of reading. Since 2000, we have joined the Seed Projects carried out by the Education Bureau. With experience and expertise, teachers set and optimize materials of school-based curricula adopted from S1 to S6. By introducing and referring to various works, we hope that students can study the traditional Chinese moral values and the spirit of scholars from the past. Moreover, we hope to guide students to observe the greatness of Chinese literature as well as the meaning of life.
