HKA understands that empowered parents play a critical role in a child’s education. Parent education sessions, led by both faculty and visiting experts, offer insights into curriculum, research-based teaching methodologies, socio emotional development and strategies for supporting learning at home. These sessions provide parents with tools to help understand and navigate their child’s educational journey.
Parent Volunteers – Bridging Connections
Parent involvement extends beyond education sessions, with volunteers actively participating in school activities and promoting intellectual curiosity. Parents are regularly on campus and are an integral part of the school’s fabric. From reading one-on-one with students to joining field trips and helping in the library, parent volunteers get to be part of an active classroom and can even come in as an expert for a particular topic or for a career exploration day.

There are also a variety of community events at HKA that bring parents together to build connections, learn from and contribute to the school’s ecosystem. They use platforms like Seesaw and Toddle to share their child’s weekly successes and progress so parents are part of the ongoing learning journey throughout the year and there are no surprises.

HKA’s commitment to student support services goes beyond the classroom. In-house counsellors, occupational therapists, and speech and language experts are readily available to provide counseling, therapyand guidance for students, teachers and parents. Counsellors take a proactive approach leading weekly wellbeing classes, small group socials and one-to-ones ensuring that every child’s and family’s needs are met effectively.

HKA takes a lot of pride in being the sole institution in Hong Kong offering the Global Citizen Diploma (GCD). The GCD programme encourages students to develop and practice transferable skills, have a growth mindset and be flexible, resilient thinkers who are able to apply their knowledge and skills to our ever-changing world.
