    Our Tseung Kwan O Neighbourhood Guide

    Whether you’re looking for a waterfront bike ride, a stroll with your dog, lunch in a relaxed environment, or activities for your children, you’ll find it all in Tseung Kwan O. An area that has seen lots of development in the last couple of years, it’s the perfect family destination. We’ve rounded up our favourite places to eat, shop, drink and see in our Tseung Kwan O Neighbourhood Guide.

    Things To Do

    High Junk Peak Clearwater Bay

    High Junk Peak

    High Junk Peak is a beautiful hike which takes you through the Clear Water Bay Peninsula. The summit of High Junk Peak (344m) is the highest accessible point and it is one of the top three sharpest peaks in Hong Kong, making this a challenging but rewarding hike. The average hiking time is approx. 3.5 hours.

    The Waterfront Promenade

    Stretching between Tseung Kwan O and Lohas Park, The Waterfront Promenade is a lovely place to go for a stroll, ride your bike or take the kids scootering. You’ll see plenty of people picnicking, taking pets foe walks or exercising. Their are many alfresco restaurants and bars to choose from and a great place to catch the sunset.

    Lohas Rink

    The Lohas Rink is Hong Kong’s largest eco-friendly ice rink and is the first to incorporate a natural, non-toxic and non-flammable CO2 chiller plant system. Located on the ground floor of The Lohas shopping mall, it’s easy to get to (Lohas Park MTR station) and has restaurants close at hand for post skating sustenance. Public skating sessions
    are 2.5 – 3 hours and cost from $65 – $95 per session, depending on the day

    Ice Rink in TKO

    Hong Kong Velodrome

    Hong Kong Velodrome is the first indoor cycling facility to meet the standards of the International Cycling Union, the Velodrome has hosted events such as the track cycling world cup, but also provides a variety of recreational facilities in addition to the 250-metre indoor cycling track. There is a children’s playroom, two table tennis rooms and a fitness room. Address: 105-107 Po Hong Road, Tseung Kwan O, Tel: 2878 8622

    Hong Kong Velodrome Park

    The Hong Kong Velodrome Park, which is located next to the Velodrome, is a 5.3-hectare park featuring a playground and play areas, a large lawn area (that you can actually go on!), artificial lakes, model boat pool, and a variety of leisure and sports facilities including a skatepark (one of the best for skateboarding in Hong Kong – read more here) amphitheatre, jogging track, sport climbing wall and a fitness corner.

    Cycle Paths

    Go for a Bike Ride – Cycling is extremely popular in TKO thanks to the number of bike paths available. A great place to start, and to hire a bike, is at the Velodrome. You can then follow the path under bridges, through tunnels and along the waterfront.

    Tseung Kwan O Swimming Pool

    The public swimming pool in Tseung Kwan O has to be one of the best in Hong Kong. It boasts eight pools, including a lido style pool complete with a play area and water pistols. There are also water slides – height restrictions apply – and there is a diving pool. Address: 9 Wan Lung Road, Tseung Kwan O, NT

    Docodoco Playroom

    Located in the Lohas Mall, DOCODOCO is 5,000sq of digital and interactive fantasy adventure for younger children. It offers many different activities and game zones, including climbing equipment, a digital slide, Brio train sections, cooking stations, a ball pit, and a digital lily pond to name a few.     Little Hawaii Waterfall

    Little Hawaii Waterfall is considered one of the easiset waterfall hikes in Hong Kong. The waterfall is accessible along the Little Hawaii Trail, which runs between Tseng Lan Shue and Tseung Kwan O. Under4km and takes approx. 1 hour. it can get very busy and crowded especially on weekends.

    Pici Tseung Kwan O

    For tasty stone baked pizzas, you can’t go wrong with Pizza Pig. Their whopping 30-inch-long and 9-inch-wide pizzas are brimming with toppings, bubbling sauce and cheese.
